Papago Golf Course is an 18 hole course that was built in 1963 by architect William F. Bell. It has long been considered one of the finest municipal golf courses in the US with national ranking.

Papago was the site of the 1971 USGA Amateur Public Links Championship and was won by an Oregonian, Fred Haney.

DRIVING RANGE:
Open from sunrise to sunset everyday. Cost: Small bucket (35 balls) $3 Large bucket (75 balls) $5 Jumbo bucket (120) $7

ADDITIONAL FACILITIES:
Putting and chipping green. Practice bunker.

RENTAL CLUBS:
Rentals clubs are available for men, women, lefties and juniors. $10 for 9 holes, $20 for 18.

CLUB AMENITIES:
Fully stocked golf shop with clothes and equipment. No locker or banquet facilities.

FOOD SERVICE:
Snackshop in clubhouse. Mobile cart on course.

MONDAY SKINS GAME:
Monday 12:00-1:00pm. Must reserve tee time by Sunday. Up to 4 times may be reserved, must have names. All players must be checked in and paid at least 15 minutes prior to the reserved time.

Youth Golf Classes
PGA professionals teach golf free to area youth, ages eight to 17, in year-round classes which typically last about a month. To register, individuals should sign up at the golf course. Golf classes are halted in October to accommodate reseeding of the practice tees with winter grass. Call Mike Swartz (602) 275-8428 for infomation.

Tournaments
Papago Golf Course hosts a variety of tournaments. Booking is recommended a year in advance for weekend dates, and all requests for tournaments after initial screening should be directed to the Head Golf Professional at (602) 275-8428.

Dress Code
Tank tops and t-shirts are allowed. Denim jeans are allowed.

GOLF SPIKE RULE:
Soft spikes preferred. Tennis shoes are permitted.

    Take Loop 202 to Exit 4 then North on 52nd Street 1/2 mi. to Moreland Street then east. Moreland is the entrance to the course. From West: I-10 East to SR-202 East, SR-202 to 52nd Street, 52nd Street north to E. Moreland (one block north of Van Buren), east on E. Moreland Street. From Sky Harbor Airport: I-10 West to SR-51, SR-51 to SR-202 East to 52nd Street, north on 52nd Street, east on E. Moreland Street. From North: SR-51 South to McDowell Road, McDowell Road east to 52nd Street, south on 52nd Street, east on E. Moreland Street. From South: I-10 West to SR-143 North, SR-143 North to Washington Street, east on Washington Street to 48th Street, north on 48th Street to Van Buren Street, east on Van Buren Street to 52nd Street, north on 52nd Street, east on E. Moreland Street.
